Morrison Hotel
By: The Doors
Morrison Hotel is probably one of my favorite Door's album! This is the Door's fifth album and was released in 1970. In this album, the Door's tried to go back to their roots and added more blues. This album peaked #4 in the U.S charts and #12 in the UK charts.
The cover of this album is a photo that was taken at the actual Morrison Hotel in Los Angeles (1246 South Hope Street). The owner of the restaurant did not give permission to the Door's to shoot this photo, but they got their way anyways. When they saw that no one was looking, they posed and got the shot.
The back cover of the album was shot at the Hard Rock Café in Los Angeles (300 East 5th St.) The original cafe is no longer there. The founders of the Hard Rock Café chain now were inspired to chose that name after seeing the back cover of Morrison Hotel.
